Polymarket Profits: 70% Lose, Tiny Elite Take $3.7B
Polymarket data shows 70% of users lost money, with less than 0.04% capturing over 70% of $3.7B in profits. Most users saw small gains or losses, while a tiny elite reaped the majority of rewards.
Recent analyses of Polymarket trading data reveal that 70% of the 1.7 million trading addresses have realized net losses, while less than 0.04% of addresses captured over 70% of the platform’s $3.7 billion in realized profits. Most profitable traders earned between $0 and $1,000, representing nearly a quarter of all addresses but less than 1% of total profits. Over 1.1 million addresses experienced losses in the $0 to $1,000 range, indicating that many users exited after small setbacks. Only a tiny fraction of participants achieved significant gains, with earning more than $1,000 placing an address in the top 4.9%. Notably, more than 140 addresses recorded losses exceeding $1 million. The data, based on actual realized profit and loss, underscores a stark concentration of profits among a small elite and highlights the challenges of consistent profitability for most Polymarket users. High-frequency trading and advanced strategies have enabled some to turn modest stakes into substantial fortunes, while the majority face modest or negative outcomes.
