Citi Predicts Bitcoin Surge to $143K as Regulation Eases
Citi forecasts Bitcoin could reach $143,000 in 12 months, citing easing U.S. regulation, institutional adoption, and ETF inflows. Ethereum is projected at $4,304. JPMorgan also sees upside as market volatility subsides and regulatory clarity improves.
Citi has issued a bullish outlook for Bitcoin, forecasting a price target of $143,000 within the next 12 months, representing a potential 62% upside from current levels near $88,000. The bank's analysts attribute this optimism to easing U.S. crypto regulation, increased institutional adoption, and continued inflows into crypto exchange-traded funds. Citi also projects Ethereum could reach $4,304, a 46% gain from current prices. The forecasts are based on assumptions of regulatory clarity, particularly the passage of the Clarity Act, and sustained investor interest. While short-term volatility and risks such as ETF outflows and macroeconomic downturns remain, Citi's base case is supported by recent stabilization in Bitcoin prices and moderated ETF outflows. JPMorgan also sees potential upside for Bitcoin, citing market stabilization after a period of deleveraging and renewed institutional momentum. Both banks highlight that clearer regulations and supportive policy shifts in the U.S. could drive further adoption and price appreciation.
