Pi Network: Protocol 28 launches as token keeps falling

Pi Network launches Protocol 28 on October 16, adding technical upgrades. The PI token remains 97% below its all-time high, despite increased social media interest.

Pi Network is experiencing a continued decline, with the PI token dropping over 4% to around $0.0824—now 97% below its all-time high. Despite this price drop, social media interest in PI has grown notably. The network is set to activate Protocol 28 on October 16, following a required node migration that must be completed by October 13. This update, already tested on the testnet, will introduce a voting mechanism for delayed transactions, improved smart contract management, and enhanced control over application data. The migration is expected to cause minimal disruption, with downtime per node not exceeding five minutes. While these technical upgrades mark significant progress, the PI token price has yet to reflect renewed market confidence.
