Arthur Hayes Predicts Monad Token Crash, Favors ETH, SOL, Zcash

Arthur Hayes warns Monad's MON token could crash 99% due to its high FDV and low float, exposing retail traders to risk. He believes only Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and Zcash will remain relevant long-term.

Arthur Hayes has issued strong warnings about Monad, a new layer-1 blockchain, predicting its MON token could crash by up to 99% due to its high fully diluted valuation (FDV) and low circulating supply. Hayes argues that Monad’s token model primarily benefits insiders and exposes retail traders to significant risk, as rapid price gains are often followed by steep declines when insider tokens unlock. Despite Monad’s initial surge and substantial fundraising, Hayes remains skeptical about its long-term relevance, stating that only a few networks like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana are likely to endure. He also suggests that privacy coins such as Zcash could lead the next crypto cycle, driven by global liquidity expansion rather than Bitcoin’s halving. Other analysts echo Hayes’ caution, advising MON holders to have an exit strategy as the token’s structure makes it vulnerable to heavy selling once hype fades.
