Standard Chartered maintains bullish Ethereum target
Standard Chartered maintains a $40,000 target for Ethereum by 2030, citing strong network fundamentals despite ETH’s recent price drop below $2,000.
Standard Chartered has reiterated its bullish stance on Ethereum, maintaining a price target of $40,000 by the end of 2030 and $4,000 by the end of 2026. This comes even as ETH recently dipped below $2,000 for the first time since late March. The bank draws a comparison between Ethereum’s current price drop and Amazon’s situation during the 2001 dot-com bust. Despite ETH falling about 57% from its August 2025 high, key network metrics—such as transaction counts and total value locked (TVL) in ETH—remain near all-time highs. Geoffrey Kendrick of Standard Chartered emphasized that the recent price weakness does not reflect Ethereum’s improving fundamentals. The bank also noted that the growth of stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets could further boost Ethereum’s network activity, supporting its optimistic long-term outlook.
