Binance continued to dominate the cryptocurrency exchange market through 2023 and into January 2026, securing 39.2% of total centralized exchange trading volume. Its reserves reached approximately $155.64 billion, according to CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap. In January 2026, Binance’s spot trading volume surpassed $518 billion, while derivatives trading hit $1.6 trillion, resulting in a combined trading volume of over $2.1 trillion—2.6 times higher than its nearest competitor. The exchange’s reserves are primarily held in stablecoins ($47.47 billion) and Bitcoin-related assets ($49.84 billion). OKX and Bybit followed with reserves of $31.29 billion and $14.17 billion, respectively. Despite regulatory hurdles and market volatility, Binance maintained strong liquidity and asset stability, reinforcing its position as the leading global crypto exchange. Regional exchanges like Upbit also carved out notable market shares.
