The U.S. crypto industry supports 232,000 jobs and is projected to add over $55 billion to the economy in 2026, impacting various sectors and states.

A series of reports commissioned by the National Cryptocurrency Association (NCA) and prepared by Pragmatic Policy Group reveal that the U.S. crypto industry directly employs 34,000 people and supports a total of 232,000 jobs when including supplier industries and worker spending. The sector is projected to contribute over $55 billion to the U.S. gross domestic product in 2026, with approximately $31 billion flowing to workers as income. The economic impact of crypto extends beyond blockchain companies, influencing technology, professional services, transportation, and consumer industries. California and New York lead in crypto-supported jobs, with 57,649 and 53,766 positions, respectively. Notably, most supported jobs are outside crypto companies, with 75,000 in supplier industries and 123,000 linked to household spending. The findings are being used to support legislative efforts, such as the CLARITY Act, highlighting the growing significance of the crypto sector in the national economy.
