Bitcoin and Gold Unite: 21Shares Launches BOLD ETP in London
21Shares has launched the BOLD ETP on the London Stock Exchange, combining bitcoin and gold in a single, physically backed product with a risk-weighted, monthly rebalancing strategy and a 0.65% annual fee.
21Shares has launched the BOLD exchange-traded product (ETP) on the London Stock Exchange, offering investors exposure to both bitcoin and gold in a single, physically backed investment vehicle. Trading under the tickers BOLD (GBP) and BOLU (USD), this product is the first of its kind on the LSE, combining the growth potential of bitcoin with the stability of gold. The ETP uses a monthly rebalancing strategy based on inverse volatility, typically allocating more to gold due to its lower volatility, while bitcoin provides upside potential. The product is fully backed by the underlying assets, with gold and bitcoin held by institutional-grade custodians. BOLD carries a 0.65% annual management fee and supports intraday trading for institutional investors. Since its initial launch in Switzerland in 2022, BOLD has delivered a 122.5% total return in GBP through the end of 2025, outperforming both bitcoin and gold individually. The launch follows the UK’s regulatory approval for crypto ETPs and reflects growing demand for diversified, regulated digital asset investment options.
