Lighter Unveils LIT Token: Airdrop, Staking, and On-Chain Rewards
Lighter has launched its LIT token, splitting supply 50/50 between the ecosystem and team/investors. A 25% airdrop rewards early users, with future allocations for growth. LIT enables staking, fees, and on-chain revenue sharing.
Lighter, a decentralized trading protocol, has launched its native LIT token, positioning it as the core economic asset for its ecosystem. The total LIT supply is split evenly, with 50% allocated to the community and 50% to the team and investors. Of the ecosystem share, 25% is immediately distributed via an airdrop to points holders from the first two points seasons in 2025, covering 12.5 million points. The remaining ecosystem allocation will support future incentive programs, partnerships, and growth initiatives. Team and investor tokens are subject to a one-year lockup and three-year linear vesting, with 26% for the team and 24% for investors. LIT will serve as a fee and staking token, supporting transaction execution, data verification, and market data services. All protocol revenue will accrue to LIT holders and be fully traceable on-chain, with funds potentially used for ecosystem growth or token buybacks. Lighter has raised $68 million in funding and has seen significant trading volume since its mainnet launch. The launch has also drawn scrutiny regarding transparency and tokenomics.
