BlackRock’s BUIDL Fund Surpasses $100M in Tokenized Payouts
BlackRock’s BUIDL fund has paid out over $100 million in dividends, becoming the first tokenized U.S. Treasury product to reach this milestone and showcasing the growing adoption of blockchain-based financial products.
BlackRock’s tokenized money market fund, BUIDL, has surpassed $100 million in cumulative dividend payouts since its launch in March 2024. The fund, issued by Securitize, invests in short-term U.S. dollar-denominated assets such as Treasury bills, repurchase agreements, and cash equivalents. BUIDL operates on the Ethereum blockchain and has expanded to several others, including Solana and Avalanche, providing institutional investors with blockchain-based access to U.S. Treasury yields. The fund distributes yields directly onchain, offering automated, transparent payments and reducing administrative steps. This milestone demonstrates significant institutional adoption and validates the efficiency and scalability of blockchain-based financial products. BUIDL’s achievement marks it as the first tokenized U.S. Treasury product to reach this payout level, highlighting the growing role of tokenized securities in modern finance.
