Euronext suspends, then restarts CoinShares Zcash ETP
Euronext Paris suspended CoinShares’ Zcash ETP debut due to settlement issues, but trading resumed hours later after resolving the operational requirements.
Euronext Paris suspended the launch of CoinShares’ Zcash exchange-traded product (ETP), trading under the ticker ZCSH, on its scheduled debut day due to operational settlement issues. The Central Securities Depository (CSD) was not yet able to support standard settlement for the product, prompting Euronext to halt trading until further notice. This suspension was not related to regulatory or listing concerns, but strictly to post-trade infrastructure requirements. The ETP, physically backed by ZEC and carrying a 1.5% annual management fee, was ready for trading in euros. Hours after the initial suspension, CoinShares announced that trading had resumed at noon CET, following the resolution of the settlement issue. Euronext confirmed that the measure was limited to operational settlement requirements and not tied to broader concerns about crypto-based ETPs. The product now allows investors to gain exposure to Zcash through a regulated security on Euronext Paris.
