Grayscale enables crypto-to-fund investments without cash

Grayscale now lets eligible investors swap cryptocurrencies directly for shares in ten funds, streamlining management and cutting costs without cash conversion.

Grayscale has introduced in-kind investment options for ten of its cryptocurrency funds. Eligible investors can now exchange digital assets directly for shares in these funds, eliminating the need to convert cryptocurrencies into cash first. This update, effective from October 21, 2026, applies to products such as the Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust ETF, Grayscale Ethereum Staking Mini ETF, and other funds holding assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Dogecoin, and Zcash. The in-kind subscription mechanism is designed to reduce transaction costs, simplify portfolio management, and ease operational challenges related to asset custody and security. Each fund maintains its own minimum investment requirements, which depend on the product and share price. This initiative is available only to investors who meet specific eligibility criteria. Notably, it does not lift resale restrictions on certain private shares.
