Tesla continues to hold a significant position in Bitcoin, with approximately 8,430 BTC valued at around $960 million, according to multiple sources. The company initially entered the cryptocurrency market in February 2021, purchasing $1.5 billion worth of Bitcoin. At its peak, the value of Tesla’s holdings soared to about $2.5 billion. Despite the volatility in the crypto market and selling 4,670 BTC—mainly in 2021 and 2022—Tesla has retained the majority of its Bitcoin. This strategy has resulted in a paper profit exceeding $710 million over four years. On-chain data from Arkham Intelligence shows Tesla’s Bitcoin portfolio has remained largely unchanged since 2022, highlighting the company’s ongoing commitment to its digital asset strategy. Tesla’s enduring stake cements its status as one of the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin and reflects the increasing institutional interest in digital assets.
