Ethereum Foundation wallets transfer $11M in ETH to Kraken
Ethereum Foundation-linked wallets moved 4,393 ETH ($11.13M) to Kraken. This continues a decade-long pattern, but there’s no direct evidence of a sale—only a transfer to the exchange.
Two wallets associated with the Ethereum Foundation have transferred 4,393 ETH, worth approximately $11.13 million, to the Kraken exchange. These wallets originally received 59,751 ETH from a Foundation wallet nearly a decade ago, when ETH traded at just $0.90. Over the years, 49,751 ETH from this allocation has been gradually moved to Kraken, with an average transfer price of about $658 per ETH. This consistent pattern suggests a systematic approach to dispersing ETH holdings. While the recent deposit has sparked speculation about potential selling pressure and market impact, there is no direct evidence that the ETH has been sold—an exchange deposit does not confirm a sale. The Foundation’s treasury policy includes periodic reviews and planned sales, but this transfer is only confirmed as a movement to the exchange, not a sale.
