Saylor hints at more Bitcoin buys as holdings hit $70B

Michael Saylor hints at more Bitcoin buys after Strategy acquires 334 BTC for $28.7M, raising holdings to 848,000 BTC. Speculation grows as the company restructures finances.

Michael Saylor has once again hinted at the possibility of additional Bitcoin purchases by Strategy, following a recent acquisition of 334 BTC valued at $28.7 million. On October 11, Saylor shared a chart on social media showing the company’s ongoing Bitcoin acquisitions, each marked by an orange dot, and reiterated, “There’s always room for more orange.” This post has reignited speculation about further Bitcoin buys, especially as Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings now total 848,000 BTC—worth approximately $70.48 billion and representing over 4% of all Bitcoin in circulation. The recent purchase was financed through the sale of MSTR shares and available cash reserves. However, the company must also ensure its dollar reserves cover dividends and debt interest. During the same period, Strategy repurchased 1.77 million shares of its STRC preferred stock for $176.3 million. Analysts suggest the company may be building up cash for future Bitcoin acquisitions, but internal policies restrict issuing new shares for crypto purchases when STRC trades below par, triggering a buyback mechanism instead. Official announcements on new Bitcoin purchases are expected after the Columbus Day holiday.
