Bitcoin loans support tuition, business, and daily expenses

Bitcoin-backed loans are now used for tuition, business, and daily expenses. Lenders like SALT and Ledn report rapid growth and are expanding their offerings to mirror traditional credit.

Bitcoin-backed loans are quickly becoming a mainstream financing option, moving beyond trading and speculation to support real-world needs such as tuition payments, emergency expenses, business capital, real estate, and debt consolidation. Lenders like SALT Lending and Ledn report a growing number of borrowers using Bitcoin as collateral to access liquidity without selling their holdings. This allows users to retain potential future gains and avoid triggering taxable events. The client base for these loans now includes institutions, entrepreneurs, and individuals from various generations. Since 2018, Ledn has issued over $11 billion in Bitcoin-backed loans and anticipates significant growth. Lenders are also introducing fixed-rate, longer-term products to better align with traditional credit offerings. This evolution positions digital assets as legitimate collateral for mainstream credit and everyday financial needs.
