Plume unveils nBND vault backed by Fidelity bond ETF

Plume launched nBND, a tokenized vault backed by Fidelity’s Total Bond ETF, expanding onchain fixed-income options but raising transparency and availability concerns.

Plume has introduced nBND, a tokenized vault primarily backed by the Fidelity Total Bond ETF (FBND). This product aims to give both institutional and onchain investors broader access to actively managed, diversified fixed-income portfolios. Operating on Plume’s blockchain, users can deposit stablecoins and receive receipt tokens that represent claims on FBND shares. The launch marks an expansion of tokenized fixed-income offerings, moving beyond short-duration Treasuries and money-market products. It addresses the growing demand for longer duration and active management within onchain finance. However, concerns remain regarding transparency around fees, custody, and redemption timelines, as well as the actual availability of the nBND vault in Plume’s live directory. This initiative highlights the ongoing trend of integrating traditional asset management with blockchain technology, potentially reshaping fixed-income investment strategies.
