Aave launches tokenized stock collateral for USDC loans

Aave enables eligible non-U.S. users to use seven Coinbase tokenized stocks as collateral for USDC loans on Base, with strict caps and risk controls.

Aave has introduced a new market on the Base network, allowing eligible non-U.S. users to use seven Coinbase-issued tokenized stocks—Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Tesla—as collateral for USDC loans. These assets are available as collateral-only, with Chainlink providing onchain pricing data to ensure transparency and accuracy. The Equities Hub features an initial collateral cap of about $29 million, a $32 million USDC supply cap, and a $21 million USDC borrow cap. This setup enables borrowers to access USDC without selling their stock exposure, while lenders supply liquidity to the market. Access to these tokenized stocks is restricted to non-U.S. users, and governance votes are required before full deployment. This initiative marks a significant step in integrating traditional equities with decentralized finance, expanding Aave’s collateral options and bridging TradFi and DeFi.
