KB Securities, Securitize & Optimism launch tokenized funds in Korea

KB Securities, Securitize, and Optimism will launch tokenized funds and bonds for Korean institutions, with plans to expand as regulations develop.

KB Securities, Securitize, and Optimism have signed a memorandum of understanding to introduce tokenized financial products for institutional investors in South Korea, utilizing the OP Mainnet. The initial offerings will feature a tokenized money market fund, a fund based on a KB Asset Management strategy, and a tokenized bond. As South Korea's regulatory framework for tokenized securities evolves, the partnership aims to expand into tokenized stocks, ADRs, corporate bonds, and government bonds. Each company contributes distinct strengths: KB Securities brings capital markets and distribution expertise, Securitize provides regulated tokenization infrastructure, and Optimism delivers blockchain technology. This collaboration marks KB Securities' first public step into tokenization and is expected to boost institutional interest in blockchain-based financial products as Korea prepares for its first regulatory phase in February 2027.
