Paribu’s $240M CoinMENA Deal Reshapes Crypto in Türkiye and MENA

Paribu’s $240M acquisition of CoinMENA marks Türkiye’s largest fintech deal, expanding Paribu’s regulated presence into the MENA region and signaling major consolidation in the crypto industry.

Paribu has acquired CoinMENA in a landmark $240 million all-cash deal, marking Türkiye’s largest fintech acquisition and its first cross-border purchase of a digital asset platform. This move positions Paribu as a major regulated player in both Türkiye and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, granting it immediate access to crucial licenses from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) and the Central Bank of Bahrain. CoinMENA, founded in 2020, serves over 1.5 million users across 45 countries and supports more than 50 cryptocurrencies with local currency on-ramps. The acquisition reflects a broader trend of consolidation in the crypto industry, as established exchanges seek scale and regulatory compliance by acquiring fully licensed operators in high-adoption markets. Paribu aims to combine its technology and security with CoinMENA’s regional expertise, creating a strong, regulated crypto platform across Türkiye and MENA. The deal underscores the growing importance of regulatory maturity and signals a new phase of expansion and innovation in the region’s digital asset industry.
