Tether and Fasanara launch $400M StableFund for SME lending
Tether and Fasanara Capital launched StableFund, a $400M private credit fund targeting $3B for SME and consumer lending in 60+ countries using USDT stablecoin infrastructure.
Tether and Fasanara Capital have partnered to launch StableFund, an evergreen private credit fund anchored by $400 million in co-investment. The fund aims to attract up to $3 billion in third-party institutional capital, focusing on lending to small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and consumers underserved by traditional banks. StableFund will operate through fintech lending platforms across more than 60 countries. It leverages Tether's USDT stablecoin infrastructure to enable faster and more efficient cross-border lending and repayments. Fasanara Capital will manage the fund and deploy capital into short-duration, asset-backed credit strategies, while Tether will originate financing opportunities and provide stablecoin settlement infrastructure. This initiative seeks to address the estimated $5.7 trillion global SME financing gap and comes as the private credit market is projected to reach $5 trillion by 2029.
