Circle to acquire Tazapay for $400M, boosting global payments
Circle will acquire Tazapay for $400M in stock, gaining a platform processing $25B annually, with 60% in stablecoins. The deal, pending approval, aims to expand Circle’s global payments by 2027.
Circle has announced its agreement to acquire Singapore-based Tazapay, a leading cross-border B2B payments infrastructure provider, in a $400 million stock deal. Tazapay currently processes over $25 billion in annualized payment volume, with approximately 60% of transactions involving stablecoins. The company partners with more than 60 banking and fintech institutions and offers local payout solutions across more than 100 markets. This acquisition is set to bolster Circle’s global payments infrastructure, particularly for USDC-denominated transactions. It will enhance Circle’s ability to process payments globally, nearly instantly and around the clock. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals, including from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and is expected to close in 2027. By leveraging Tazapay’s rapidly growing infrastructure—having scaled from $10 billion in annualized volume in August 2025 to $25 billion—Circle aims to make USDC a core payment rail for international commerce, deepening its presence in Asia-Pacific and emerging markets.
