Canton Network Raises $50M from Financial Giants for Blockchain Expansion

Digital Asset raised $50 million from BNY, Nasdaq, S&P Global, and iCapital to scale the Canton Network, a privacy-focused blockchain for regulated markets, supporting trillions in tokenized assets and over 600 institutions.

Digital Asset, the company behind the Canton Network, has secured approximately $50 million in new funding from major financial institutions including BNY, iCapital, Nasdaq, and S&P Global. This investment aims to scale the Canton Network, a public, permissionless layer-1 blockchain designed for institutional-grade compliance and configurable privacy. The network currently supports trillions of dollars’ worth of tokenized real-world assets and involves over 600 institutions and validators. Unlike retail DeFi platforms, Canton Network focuses on privacy and compliance controls tailored for regulated markets, enabling confidential transactions among permissioned participants. The network’s tokenomics are structured to reward validators and applications that drive real transaction activity. This funding round follows a previous $135 million investment and is expected to accelerate the network’s global expansion and onboarding of more real-world assets, reinforcing its position as a key infrastructure for institutional on-chain markets. The involvement of leading banks, exchanges, and data providers signals growing institutional confidence in blockchain technology for regulated financial operations.
