Crypto tycoons boost Reform UK with record donations
Reform UK received £4m from Ben Delo in Q2 2026, making up 75% of its donations. Delo and Christopher Harborne, both from crypto, are the party’s top donors.
Reform UK has attracted significant financial support from leading figures in the cryptocurrency sector. Ben Delo, co-founder of BitMEX, donated £4 million in the second quarter of 2026, representing about 75% of the party’s total donations for that period. Delo’s overall contributions to Reform UK have now reached £8 million. Christopher Harborne, another prominent crypto investor, has given between £12 million and £15 million to the party since late 2025, although he did not donate in the second quarter of 2026. Delo’s donations were made in two separate transactions in April, and all contributions were provided in fiat currency. Reform UK’s fundraising in Q2 2026 surpassed that of both Labour and the Conservatives. The party stated that Delo’s donations would not be impacted by new overseas donor caps. The influx of funds from crypto industry leaders has prompted questions about their influence on party policies. Additionally, a £5 million gift to Nigel Farage from Harborne is under parliamentary investigation.
