BitMine nears 5% of Ethereum supply with $14.9B in assets

BitMine has boosted its Ethereum holdings by 32,447 ETH in the past week, raising its total to 5,847,611 ETH as of August 23. This represents about 4.8% of Ethereum’s total supply. The company’s total assets—including crypto, cash, securities, and investments—now stand at approximately $14.9 billion. Of BitMine’s ETH holdings, 5,067,309 tokens are staked, accounting for 87% of its Ethereum assets and valued at $12.4 billion. The recent ETH acquisition marks BitMine’s largest weekly purchase since early July, bringing the company 97% of the way to its goal of controlling 5% of Ethereum’s supply. The surge in ETH price to $2,440 has increased the value of BitMine’s holdings by $3 billion in just a week. The company projects an annualized staking income of about $330 million and remains committed to its accumulation strategy despite ongoing market volatility.
