Norway’s wealth fund posts record $184B profit, adds SpaceX

Norway’s wealth fund posted a record $184B profit in H1 2026, driven by Asian tech stocks, and disclosed a $1.22B SpaceX stake, its first in the company.

Norway's sovereign wealth fund, managed by Norges Bank Investment Management, achieved a record profit of approximately $184 billion (1.75 trillion Norwegian kroner) in the first half of 2026, marking a 9.4% return. This impressive performance was primarily fueled by gains in Asian technology stocks and strong global equity markets. The fund, valued at around $2.3 trillion, also announced its first-ever investment in SpaceX, acquiring a 0.05% stake valued at about $1.22 billion as of June 30, 2026. This new position in SpaceX is smaller compared to the fund’s larger holdings in companies such as Nvidia and Apple. With investments in over 7,000 companies across more than 50 countries, the fund holds about 1.5% of all publicly listed shares worldwide. The first-half profit surpassed previous records, with technology and semiconductor stocks playing a significant role in the rebound after a weak first quarter.
