eToro to acquire TradeZero for $231M amid crypto slump
eToro will acquire TradeZero for up to $231M to expand in the U.S. and diversify beyond crypto, as crypto revenues fall. The deal is expected to close in early 2027.
eToro has announced plans to acquire U.S.-focused brokerage TradeZero for up to $231 million, aiming to expand its presence in the American market and diversify beyond cryptocurrencies. The deal, set to close in the first half of 2027 pending regulatory approvals, will be settled through a mix of cash and up to 2.5 million newly issued Class A common shares. TradeZero is recognized for its commission-free equities and options trading, having generated approximately $80 million in revenue with an 81% gross margin over the past year. This acquisition comes as eToro reported a 30% year-over-year decline in crypto-related revenue for Q2, with crypto trading activity dropping 73% in July. The deal is expected to be accretive to eToro’s adjusted earnings per share in its first full year. It will also add TradeZero’s active trader customer base and broker-dealer infrastructure to eToro’s U.S. operations.
