American Bitcoin president Prusak moves to Giga Energy
Matt Prusak is leaving American Bitcoin to join Giga Energy as chief business officer and interim CFO, reflecting a shift from bitcoin mining to AI and power infrastructure.
Matt Prusak, president and interim CFO of American Bitcoin, is set to leave the Nasdaq-listed mining firm, which was co-founded by Eric Trump and backed by Hut 8. He will join Houston-based Giga Energy as chief business officer and interim CFO, effective August 4. During his tenure, Prusak led American Bitcoin’s strategy to expand hashrate and boost BTC holdings per share, establishing the company as a notable player in the crypto mining sector. His departure marks a significant shift from bitcoin mining to power infrastructure, mirroring a broader industry trend as mining margins tighten and demand for AI data center capacity grows. Giga Energy claims to have delivered over 6.5 gigawatts of power infrastructure and is developing more than 500 megawatts of AI-ready data center capacity. Prusak’s move underscores the growing convergence between bitcoin mining expertise and the rapidly expanding AI infrastructure sector, as more executives transition to roles supporting the technology backbone.
