American Bitcoin posts record BTC output despite Q2 loss

American Bitcoin posted a $57.2M Q2 loss but hit record BTC production, boosting reserves to 8,002 BTC and mining revenue by 8%. Losses improved from Q1, and the company remains focused on growth.

American Bitcoin reported a net loss of $57.2 million for Q2 2026, improving from the previous quarter’s $81.8 million loss. Despite remaining unprofitable, the company achieved record quarterly Bitcoin production, mining 932 BTC and increasing its reserves by 14% to 8,002 BTC. Mining revenue rose 8% to $67 million compared to Q1. The company completed a 1-for-15 reverse stock split to maintain its Nasdaq listing and remains majority owned by Hut 8. Operating losses were mainly due to a $71.1 million loss on digital assets, with the decline in Bitcoin’s price cited as a key factor. American Bitcoin continues to focus on expanding its mining infrastructure and strengthening its balance sheet, expressing confidence in Bitcoin’s long-term prospects. Following the results, ABTC shares saw a slight increase in trading.
