SBI Holdings acquires majority stake in Coinhako

SBI Holdings acquired a majority stake in Coinhako, making it a consolidated subsidiary and expanding its digital asset presence in Asia-Pacific. Financial details were not disclosed.

SBI Holdings has acquired a majority stake in Coinhako, a Singapore-based crypto asset platform, following approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore. The deal was finalized on July 16 via SBI’s Singapore subsidiary, SBI Ventures Asset, through a capital injection and share purchase from existing shareholders. Coinhako operates under Holdbuild Pte. Ltd. and is regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore through its licensed subsidiary, Hako Technology, which holds a Major Payment Institution license. Additionally, Alpha Hako is registered as a crypto asset service provider in the British Virgin Islands. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. With this acquisition, Coinhako becomes a consolidated subsidiary of SBI Holdings, strengthening the group’s digital asset presence in the Asia-Pacific region and supporting its broader strategy in regulated crypto operations, stablecoins, and cross-border digital finance.
