SBI Holdings and Solana launch on-chain financial market

SBI Holdings and Solana Foundation launch SBI Solana Global to build Japan’s first on-chain financial market, focusing on stablecoins, asset tokenization, and digital infrastructure.

SBI Holdings has intensified its presence in the cryptocurrency sector, emerging as the sole investor in funding rounds for firms like Gauntlet and EDX Markets. The company has also acquired the Bitbank exchange and engaged in several other crypto initiatives. On July 13, 2026, SBI Holdings and the Solana Foundation announced the launch of SBI Solana Global, a joint venture aimed at building Japan’s first on-chain financial market. This new entity, involving SBI R3 Japan and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, will focus on issuing and distributing the JPYSC stablecoin and tokenizing real-world assets. SBI Solana Global will also provide infrastructure for international settlements, institutional services, and payment systems for AI agents. The project seeks to integrate digital assets into Japan’s financial system, leveraging regulatory clarity to promote financial inclusion, stability, and global liquidity connections. This marks a major step in blockchain adoption within Japan’s financial sector.
