Empery Digital pivots from Bitcoin to AI data centers

Empery Digital sold 1,400 Bitcoin for $87.1M to repay debt, fund a $65M AI data center, and cover legal and property costs, shifting focus to AI infrastructure.

Empery Digital has sold 1,400 Bitcoin at an average price of $62,200 per coin, raising approximately $87.1 million. The proceeds were used to repay $10 million in debt, fund a $65 million investment for a 25% stake in a new 150 MW AI data center in the Midwest, cover legal expenses, and support property acquisitions. This marks the company’s largest reduction in Bitcoin holdings, dropping from over 4,000 BTC to 1,514 BTC as of July 10. Empery Digital is ending its Bitcoin treasury strategy and shifting focus to AI infrastructure and data centers, citing significant losses from previous Bitcoin investments. Going forward, capital allocation will prioritize hyperscaler-anchored data center deals, with spending capped at the $65 million investment level. Empery Digital still holds about $96.5 million in Bitcoin and $74 million in cash, while maintaining $45 million in outstanding debt.
