EDX Markets raises $76M for institutional crypto growth

EDX Markets raised $76M in Series C led by SBI Holdings to expand institutional crypto trading, custody, and settlement, and accelerate global growth.

EDX Markets, a crypto trading platform focused on institutional clients, has secured $76 million in a Series C funding round led by SBI Holdings. The new capital will support the expansion of EDX’s digital asset infrastructure, including trading, custody, and settlement services. It will also accelerate product development and drive international growth. EDX operates a non-custodial exchange model, separating trading from custody and settlement through a central clearinghouse. This approach aims to reduce counterparty risk and mirror traditional financial market structures. The company has introduced products such as FlowConnect and has applied for a U.S. national trust bank charter to establish EDX Trust, which would provide regulated custody and settlement services. The funding further strengthens EDX’s partnership with SBI Holdings, a leader in regulated digital asset solutions, including stablecoins in Japan. This move comes as institutional demand for regulated crypto trading platforms continues to rise.
