Theo makes $20M investment in Fidelity’s tokenized fund
Theo invested $20M in Fidelity’s tokenized USD fund FILQ via Sygnum, becoming the first crypto-native platform to do so. FILQ is rated Moody’s Aaa-mf and invests in short-term money market instruments.
Theo, an onchain capital markets platform, has invested $20 million in Fidelity International’s tokenized USD liquidity fund, FILQ. This marks the first time a crypto-native platform has allocated capital to this fund. The transaction was executed through Swiss digital asset bank Sygnum, which offers regulated banking, custody, and tokenization services. FILQ is built on Sygnum’s Desygnate platform and holds a Moody’s Aaa-mf rating. The fund invests in diversified short-term money market instruments, aiming to preserve capital and maintain liquidity. Chainlink provides onchain net asset value (NAV) and distribution data, while JPMorgan verifies the daily NAV. Theo’s investment integrates FILQ into its institutional tokenized Treasury product, thBILL. With FILQ’s onchain assets under management at about $55.1 million, Theo’s allocation represents nearly one-third of the total. This move highlights the growing connection between digital asset investors and traditional finance products, as the scale of tokenized U.S. Treasuries continues to expand.
