DraftKings unveils DKeX: $11B prediction market launch
DraftKings launched DKeX, its own prediction market exchange, reporting $3.4B in consumer volume and $11.3B in trading volume, with the World Cup driving activity.
DraftKings has launched DKeX, its proprietary prediction markets exchange, marking a significant expansion into the event contracts and prediction markets sector. DKeX is fully integrated into the DraftKings Sports & Casino app, enabling users to access prediction market trading alongside traditional sportsbook offerings. The platform leverages technology and a CFTC regulatory license acquired through the purchase of Railbird Technologies. This allows DraftKings to self-certify its own event contracts and eliminates reliance on third-party brokers such as CME Group and Crypto.com. As of June 21, DraftKings reported approximately $3.4 billion in annualized consumer volume and $11.3 billion in total annualized trading volume, with the World Cup cited as a major driver of activity. Over 30% of users have adopted the contract combinations feature since its introduction in mid-May. The launch of DKeX positions DraftKings to innovate more rapidly, optimize operational economics, and compete with platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket, while providing greater control over content and user experience.
