Polymarket surpasses $1B revenue after U.S. launch
Polymarket surpassed $1B in annualized revenue six weeks after its U.S. launch, fueled by World Cup trading and new CFTC regulation.
Polymarket has exceeded $1 billion in annualized revenue just six weeks after opening its U.S. exchange, following years of regulatory hurdles. This surge is closely tied to the ongoing FIFA World Cup, which has boosted daily trading on the U.S. platform from about $50 million in mid-May to over $200 million by June 20, according to Dune Analytics. International trading volumes have also hit record highs, rebounding from previous declines. The U.S. exchange, launched in December, operates separately from Polymarket’s international platform and is now regulated by the CFTC after earlier investigations were dropped. Polymarket attributes its rapid growth to product development and recent platform updates, including new trading options and a USD stablecoin. This milestone marks a major turnaround for the company, which was previously barred from the U.S. market due to regulatory issues.
