Sharplink resumed Ethereum purchases after eight months, acquiring 5,000 ETH at 2026 lows. The company now holds 876,285 ETH, facing significant unrealized losses.
Sharplink has resumed its Ethereum purchasing activity after an eight-month hiatus, acquiring 5,000 ETH valued at approximately $7.85 million from FalconX. This is the company's first ETH purchase since October 2025, when it last bought 19,270 ETH for $78.3 million. The acquisition comes as ETH reached its lowest price in 2026, around $1,537. Sharplink now holds about 876,285 ETH, with an average acquisition cost of $3,609 per ETH, resulting in an unrealized loss of roughly $1.79 billion. The company remains one of the largest public corporate holders of Ethereum. Sharplink has also supported the launch of Ethlabs, a nonprofit established with Bitmine and Joseph Lubin to replace some functions of the Ethereum Foundation and prepare the network for further institutional adoption. The company cited regulatory progress, market improvements, and real-world asset tokenization as key long-term catalysts for Ethereum.
