Cardano Unveils 70M ADA Plan to Supercharge DeFi and Recovery

Cardano proposes a 70 million ADA budget to fund stablecoin, custody, bridge, oracle, and analytics integrations, aiming to boost DeFi, institutional use, and network resilience after a recent chain split.

Cardano's leading organizations have jointly proposed a 70 million ADA budget to fund critical infrastructure upgrades, aiming to address key gaps in stablecoin integration, institutional-grade custody, cross-chain bridges, pricing oracles, and advanced analytics. This unified initiative, called the Cardano Critical Integrations Budget, follows Cardano's swift recovery from a recent AI-induced chain split and seeks to enhance the network's DeFi ecosystem, attract institutional investors, and support real-world asset tokenization. The proposal, developed after extensive partner negotiations, will be subject to community governance approval, with oversight by Intersect to ensure transparency and accountability. The funding is milestone-based, with payments released upon contract completion, and is intended to be deployed over 24 months. The plan is seen as essential for Cardano's growth, operational resilience, and competitiveness, with the absence of these components identified as a limiting factor for the ecosystem. Treasury reserves and inflows are considered sufficient to support the initiative, which could serve as a launchpad for Cardano's ambitions through 2026.
