Crypto Giants Race to Amass Bitcoin and Ethereum Reserves
Crypto giants are amassing large Bitcoin and Ethereum reserves, with BitMine recently buying 14,618 ETH. Despite these moves, ETH’s price remains flat, but companies remain bullish on its future.
MicroStrategy began accumulating Bitcoin in 2020, inspiring other companies to follow suit. These firms now collectively hold over 1.061 million BTC, using it as a treasury reserve asset and a hedge against inflation. Similarly, Ethereum reserve entities, including public companies and institutional investors, are actively acquiring ETH due to its significance in decentralized finance. BitMine Immersion Technologies has continued its ETH accumulation, recently purchasing 14,618 ETH worth over $44 million, bringing its total holdings to about 3.63 million ETH, or 3% of the total supply. BitMine aims to own 5% of Ethereum’s supply and is halfway to this goal. Despite these large purchases, the ETH price remains flat near $3,030, influenced by ETF outflows and weak liquidity. BitMine’s strategy includes staking ETH and reinvesting rewards, reflecting confidence in Ethereum’s long-term growth and its role in future financial services.
