Crypto PACs spend $12M on Alabama Senate runoff

Crypto PACs have spent about $12 million backing Barry Moore in Alabama’s Senate runoff, highlighting the growing influence of digital asset funding and Moore’s strong pro-crypto stance.

Crypto-backed organizations have invested millions in Alabama’s Republican Senate primary runoff, with Fairshake and its affiliate Defend American Jobs leading the charge. According to Federal Election Commission records, over $4.7 million was spent on media and advertising to support Barry Moore in the runoff, adding to $7.4 million committed before the May 20 primary. This brings the total crypto-related spending to approximately $12 million. Moore’s campaign has received endorsements from major crypto advocacy groups and industry leaders, underscoring his strong support for digital asset legislation. His legislative record and personal Bitcoin holdings have further solidified his backing from the crypto sector. The race, intensified by the incumbent’s decision to run for governor, has become a focal point for the growing influence of cryptocurrency funding in U.S. politics. In contrast, Moore’s opponent, Jared Hudson, has not attracted significant crypto industry support.
