Trump Media transfers $205M in Bitcoin to Crypto.com
Trump Media moved 2,650 BTC ($205M) to Crypto.com, raising unrealized losses to $455M. The transfer follows a prior large move and comes after dropping crypto ETF plans.
Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the parent company of Truth Social, has transferred 2,650 Bitcoin—worth approximately $205 million—to the Crypto.com exchange. This marks TMTG’s largest single Bitcoin transfer since it began accumulating the cryptocurrency. The move follows a previous transfer of 2,000 BTC four months ago. TMTG originally acquired 11,542 BTC at an average price of $118,522 per coin, investing about $1.37 billion. After the latest transfer, TMTG’s holdings stand at 6,889 BTC, valued at around $533 million. Despite these holdings, TMTG faces roughly $455 million in unrealized losses due to Bitcoin’s price decline. Analysts speculate the transfer could indicate a potential sale, liquidity management, or other treasury strategies, though no sale has been confirmed. This activity comes after TMTG abandoned plans for crypto ETFs and reported a $406 million net loss in Q1 2026, mainly from unrealized crypto asset markdowns.
