Truth Social pulls crypto ETF filings amid competition

Truth Social and Yorkville America withdrew three crypto ETF applications, citing strategic shifts and rising competition as the market favors established, lower-fee funds.

Truth Social and its financial partner Yorkville America have withdrawn applications for three cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs): the Truth Social Bitcoin ETF, the Truth Social Bitcoin & Ethereum Blend ETF, and the Crypto Blue Chip ETF. The withdrawals were confirmed in filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Yorkville America cited a shift in product strategy, moving from the Securities Act of 1933 framework to the Investment Company Act of 1940. This change aims to foster more innovative products and enhance investor protections. Industry analysts attribute the decision to increased competition in the spot Bitcoin ETF market, especially after Morgan Stanley launched a low-fee product, making it harder for new entrants to compete. The overall market for crypto ETFs has cooled, with investors favoring established, lower-fee funds. While no official reason was given, the companies indicated future filings remain possible.
