Nvidia and IREN announce $2.1B AI infrastructure deal
Nvidia and IREN partner to deploy up to 5 GW of AI infrastructure. Nvidia receives warrants for 30M IREN shares. IREN pivots to AI and cloud, securing a $3.4B deal with Nvidia.
Nvidia and IREN have formed a strategic partnership to accelerate the global deployment of next-generation AI infrastructure. The collaboration targets up to 5 gigawatts of NVIDIA DSX-aligned AI infrastructure across IREN’s data center pipeline, with a key focus on the 2 GW Sweetwater campus in Texas. As part of the agreement, IREN granted Nvidia warrants to purchase up to 30 million shares at $70 each over five years. If fully exercised, this represents a potential $2.1 billion equity stake, pending regulatory approvals. The partnership combines NVIDIA’s AI factory architecture with IREN’s expertise in power, land, data center construction, and GPU deployment, aiming to broaden access to AI computing resources for startups and enterprises. Following the announcement, IREN shares surged over 25%. Despite reporting a revenue decline to $144.8 million and increased net losses due to lower Bitcoin prices and asset impairments, IREN is pivoting toward large-scale AI and cloud computing, highlighted by a five-year, $3.4 billion cloud services agreement with NVIDIA.
