Morgan Stanley launches low-fee crypto trading on E*Trade

Morgan Stanley launches crypto trading on E*Trade with a 0.5% fee, supporting Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. Full rollout to 8.6M clients is planned for 2026.

Morgan Stanley has introduced cryptocurrency trading on its E*Trade platform, starting with a pilot program for select users. The service features a competitive 0.5% transaction fee, undercutting major competitors like Coinbase, Robinhood, Charles Schwab, and Fidelity. Currently, the pilot supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, with custody, liquidity, and settlement provided by ZeroHash. This launch is part of Morgan Stanley’s broader digital asset strategy, which includes its recent spot Bitcoin ETF and plans for Ether and Solana ETFs. The bank is also exploring additional crypto integration, such as custody services, crypto-to-ETF conversions, and tokenized equity trading. Morgan Stanley aims to expand crypto trading access to all 8.6 million E*Trade clients by 2026. This aggressive pricing and expansion strategy is expected to intensify competition among brokerage firms and accelerate mainstream adoption of digital assets.
