DTCC announces July 2026 tokenized asset trading launch

DTCC will launch tokenized asset trading in July 2026, with a full rollout in October, partnering with 50+ major financial and crypto firms to boost settlement speed, liquidity, and blockchain adoption.

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) is set to launch live tokenized asset trading trials in July 2026, with a full commercial rollout planned for October. This initiative is being developed in collaboration with over 50 financial institutions, including major firms like BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Bank of America, as well as crypto-native companies such as Circle, Kraken, and Ondo Finance. The project aims to integrate tokenized assets into the traditional financial ecosystem. Backed by a three-year authorization from the SEC, the service will initially support highly liquid assets, including Russell 1000 constituents, major index ETFs, and U.S. Treasury securities. A dedicated working group is focused on establishing tokenization standards, ensuring blockchain interoperability, and providing legal protections for digital assets comparable to traditional securities. The platform is designed to enhance settlement speed, increase market liquidity, and enable innovations like 24/7 trading and programmable finance, underscoring the growing institutional adoption of blockchain-based infrastructure.
