K Wave Media pivots $485M from Bitcoin to AI infrastructure
K Wave Media is shifting $485M from Bitcoin to AI infrastructure, focusing on data centers and GPU computing as part of a broader restructuring and debt reduction plan.
K Wave Media, a Nasdaq-listed company formerly known for its substantial Bitcoin investments, has announced a major strategic shift. The firm will reallocate up to $485 million from its Bitcoin-focused fund into artificial intelligence infrastructure, according to recent SEC filings. This marks a significant move away from digital asset accumulation toward investments in data centers, GPU computing, and other AI-related projects. The reallocation is part of a broader corporate restructuring, which also includes the divestment of its subsidiary, Play Co., Ltd. This sale is expected to reduce approximately $48 million in debt. The original $500 million investment plan, once centered on Bitcoin, will now be fully redirected toward AI-driven initiatives. K Wave Media will continue to maintain its other business interests, such as South Korean cultural assets and tokenized securities. This strategic pivot reflects evolving market conditions and a growing corporate emphasis on AI technology.
