Luxor and MicroBT sign $100M deal, expand LuxOS support

Luxor will buy $100M in WhatsMiner rigs and expand LuxOS firmware support. MicroBT will invest in Luxor, deepening their integration of mining hardware and software.

Luxor Technology has strengthened its partnership with MicroBT by committing $100 million to purchase WhatsMiner bitcoin mining rigs. As part of the deal, MicroBT will invest in Luxor through its investment manager, Inflection Technology Ltd., though the investment amount remains undisclosed. Luxor will expand support for WhatsMiner machines with its LuxOS firmware, introducing features like rapid power target transitions, advanced thermal management, safe rapid curtailment, and improved ramp-up times. The firmware will roll out in phases, initially supporting select M50 series models. Operators will gain access to Luxor’s suite of services, including mining pools, hashrate derivatives, energy services, and fleet management tools. With over 300,000 mining machines already running LuxOS, this partnership further integrates hardware procurement with operational software, signaling a long-term strategic alignment between the companies.
