Tether has acquired a significant stake in Antalpha, a bitcoin mining finance company closely linked to Bitmain, via Antalpha’s May 2025 Nasdaq IPO. Regulatory filings reveal that Tether and its affiliates now own 1.95 million shares, representing about 8.2% of Antalpha’s outstanding equity. This makes Tether one of the company’s largest shareholders. The acquisition involved purchasing more than half of the shares offered in the IPO, which raised approximately $49 million at $12.80 per share. Antalpha specializes in bitcoin-backed loans and mining equipment financing, with a loan portfolio of roughly $1.6 billion as of late 2024. In 2025, Antalpha reported nearly $80 million in revenue—a 68% year-over-year increase—and net income of $18.5 million, more than triple the previous year. Despite strong financial growth, Antalpha shares have traded below the IPO price, recently around $9.30. Tether’s investment highlights its expanding role in crypto infrastructure and financial services.
