Tether leads $8M round for KAIO’s blockchain fund platform
Tether led an $8M round for KAIO, boosting its blockchain fund platform. KAIO now totals $19M in funding and manages $100M in assets, expanding access to tokenized institutional products.
Tether has led an $8 million strategic funding round for Abu Dhabi-regulated tokenization firm KAIO, bringing the company’s total funding to $19 million. KAIO builds infrastructure that allows asset managers to tokenize and distribute institutional funds on blockchain networks, enabling access to products from firms like BlackRock, Brevan Howard, and Hamilton Lane with minimum investments starting at $100. The new funding will help KAIO expand into credit, structured products, and ETFs, and support the launch of an onchain fund with Mubadala Capital. Currently, KAIO manages around $100 million in assets and has processed over $500 million in transactions. Other participants in the round included Systemic Ventures, Further Ventures, Laser Digital, Brevan Howard Digital, and Karatage. Tether’s investment supports its strategy to promote real-world asset tokenization and integrate stablecoin liquidity with regulated investment products, bridging traditional finance and blockchain technology.
