Bluesky raised $100M in Series B led by Bain Capital Crypto, fueling team growth, infrastructure, and app development. Users surged from 13M to 43M, with 1,000+ active apps on its decentralized AT Protocol.
Bluesky, a decentralized social media platform, has completed a $100 million Series B funding round led by Bain Capital Crypto. The round, finalized in April 2025 and disclosed in March 2026, included investors such as Alumni Ventures, Anthos Capital, Bloomberg Beta, Knight Foundation, and True Ventures. The new capital is being used to expand Bluesky’s team, scale its infrastructure, and further develop both the Bluesky app and the AT Protocol. Since the funding, Bluesky’s global user base has grown from 13 million to 43 million, and its AT Protocol ecosystem now supports over 1,000 weekly active applications. Bluesky has also undergone executive restructuring and is focusing on long-term platform resilience and ecosystem growth. The company aims to provide a scalable, open alternative to traditional social networks.
